About me
First of all, I appreciate that you wanted to get to know me better and ended up reading this page.
My name is Ana and I am 33 years old. I live with my husband and our toddler in a nice, cozy apartment in Amsterdam.
Growing up my family moved around a lot, so even if I will never have that one memory of the bedroom I grew up in, or of my favorite spot to hide in the house, it didn’t bother me. Every time we moved for me it meant that I got to design my room, again, and nothing could make me happier. Only as a grown-up, do I realize that the main reason why it’s that we never leave our homes. The home we take with us in our hearts, and we just have to build a house to match it. But also, I loved decorating…
After graduating high school, my love for beauty and desire to improve the small and bigger things in life took me to the University of Architecture of Bucharest where I focused on Interior Architecture. As a student, I learned a lot of very different things, some of which were unexpected, who knew that there are types of math that don’t suck… From "the study of shapes", "light and color", "styles and their evolution" to "mechanics and physics", "geometry of design", and “anthropometry"... all to be able to make a mix of all of the above to design a solution.
After getting certified in Romania, I moved to Amsterdam where I also followed a course at the Academy of Architecture (Academie van Bouwkunst) to learn more specific things about Dutch architecture and the way of building.
No matter how big or small the project is, and not just projects, this is pretty much how I approach everything I do, my first instinct is to fix or improve it. I am by nature a problem solver. I want my clients to be safe, comfortable, and of course, happy in their homes. And yes, in this specific order. Actually, "Making people happy" is my answer to everyone who asks me what I like the most about my job. It might seem like not much, but having the right size kitchen sink or staring at the perfect wall color before falling asleep can make a huge impact on one's everyday life, resulting in a happier life.
