Of course, all projects are different as well as the clients. Most people prefer neutral or soft shades in their homes for various reasons… But when in the second sentence the client tells me: “ I really like the British racing green! Could we do something with it?” My heart just explodes and not just “something”, I am making it a statement!

In this case, the client (young couple) got a beautiful, light apartment in an “Amsterdam School” style building and neighborhood. The balcony and the French balcony on the other side of the room, let a lot of light in as well as views of the buildings around, all in the same color of natural red brick, a perfect complementary color for green.

Getting inspired by all this I wanted to make not just “something green” but to make a British Racing Green Statement. So we went for the kitchen.

The resulting eclectic style is a well-balanced mix between the two parties. He wanted modern and bold, she wanted cozy, warm with chic notes. Some extra practical changes were made as well. Like adding more storage space and an improved workflow.
